Greetings! I'm Simi, and if life were a tapestry, mine would be a vibrant medley of cultures, experiences, and lessons. I was born in the colorful landscapes of India, matured amidst the rich traditions of Nigeria and the U.K., and then found myself entwined in the knots that make up the United States. My travels have been extensive before settling in the U.S., and I plan to start them again. Most recently, I spent a transformative year in the rugged beauty of Alaska – my son was born in Fairbanks! Every beat of my heart hums with tales from across the globe, making me a true global citizen.

 

Armed with degrees in English, a bachelor's in therapy/addictions from DePaul University, and an MBA from Northern Illinois University, my commitment has consistently been to advocate for scholarship support, champion women's issues, educate about the significance of DEIB, and the importance of providing trauma-informed care. This steadfast dedication has garnered attention both nationally and internationally. Notably, I'm proud to have been awarded the Paragon Advisor of the Year by Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society and to be recognized among the Women in Leadership 40 under 40 in Illinois.

 

My Professional Canvas:

Higher Education and leadership: My portfolio spans roles in areas such as Student Affairs, Workforce Development and Corporate Training, Career Services & Payroll, and Learning and Design. I have developed and delivered a wide array of in-person and online workshops on topics such as Course Creation, Leadership, Social Media Marketing and Branding, College 101, DEIB, Safe Zone, and Business and Management. My work in higher education has empowered students and professionals to reach their full potential through innovative and impactful educational experiences.

  

Healthcare: For seven years, I provided essential support and therapy to a diverse audience including frontline caregivers, community members, first responders, military personnel, and civilians. Specializing in mental health first aid and addictions, I also dedicated myself to advocating for and supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, ensuring they received the care and resources they needed.

  

Fundraising: My passions motivated me to foster change, and I have spent more than a decade raising funds for scholarships, non-profits, and the arts. My efforts have helped secure vital resources and support for a variety of important causes and initiatives, and student scholarships. 

 

Content Creation: Drawing from my diverse professional background, I excel in creating compelling content that drives engagement and fosters connection. With extensive experience working with authors and entrepreneurs, I provide tailored SEO and other copywriting services that enhance visibility and impact. Whether crafting engaging website content, persuasive marketing copy, or informative articles, my goal is to deliver clear, concise, and impactful messages that resonate with your target audience.

My mission has always transcended my titles. For me, it is about touching lives through storytelling, building authentic relationships, and philanthropic endeavors.

 

Entrepreneurial Adventures:

From educating on DEIB and social media strategies to collaborating with community colleges and offering career coaching, I've ventured into varied realms. I've enjoyed wearing the hats of a speaker, workshop provider, content creator, and social media entrepreneur. My services also extend to copywriting, editing, and proofreading for fellow creators.

 

Beyond Work:
Life away from my desk is filled with motherhood's joys and family's warmth. Having recently nestled in Utah, the serene landscapes of Salt Lake City are our new playground. My zest for life also finds expression in dancing, reading, theater, volunteering, and immersing in diverse cultures—often paired with delectable wines and cuisines, surrounded by candid chats and hearty laughter.

 

Passions that Fuel Me:

The pen is my soul's voice, and I recently published a children's book and am excited to publish more books in other genres. Besides taking time to write more, I'm often lost in books or music, savoring tea, wine, or whiskey, or whipping up culinary delights when not working. My heart beats for traveling, supporting shelters, and championing women's rights worldwide. From skydiving to underwater adventures, my spirit is ever-eager!
